Overriding a Profile |
When a profile is assigned to a new user, it provides the same system access for all company codes in the plan to which the user has access. However, there may be certain company codes to which the access settings are not compatible with the user's responsibilities. For example, the profile may allow the user to view participant information for all company codes. However, for a particular company code, the user must be able to perform routine participant maintenance. You can override the profile for just this company code and change the "Participant Maintenance" function access setting from "View" to "Update."
You can define overrides for one or more company codes at a time. For example, you may want to change the access settings for company codes AAA and DDD at the same time because the user requires the same access to these companies. You can then continue and change the settings for company code MMM to provide different access.
To
override a profile for
a specific company code
After you've entered the user's basic information, accessed the Advanced Options and optionally, made changes to the default profile settings, click Override.
On the Override Profile page, select the company code(s) from the list to which these overrides will apply.
To select company codes that are listed consecutively in the list, click on the first code, press and hold Shift, and then click on the last code.
To select non-consecutive company codes, click on the first code, press and hold Ctrl, and then click on each code that you want.
Do either of the following:
If you want to deny this user total access to the selected the company code(s), check Deny Access.
If you want to change the access settings for the selected company code(s), select the options that you want.
|
Depending upon the guidelines of a plan, some system access options (Hide, View, Update) may be restricted. Any option that is not available will be disabled (appears in gray and cannot be selected). |
Click the appropriate Save button. If you want to define another override for different company codes, click Save and Continue. When you have completed entering the overrides you want, click Save and Exit.
When you exit, click OK to acknowledge the confirmation.
